How to use
INSERTING THE MENSTRUAL CUP
Before using the menstrual cup for the first time, sterilise it by boiling it for approximately 10 minutes. Wash your hands with Nomai Cup Wash cleansing gel, fold the menstrual cup and slide the rim of the menstrual cup into the vagina in the best position for yourself.
The entire length of the menstrual cup, including the antenna, should be positioned inside the vagina. Make sure that the menstrual cup is fully opened, for example by rotating it 180 degrees with your fingers. If the menstrual cup feels uncomfortable, it is probably positioned too low. The antenna can be shortened if you like.
When the menstrual cup has been inserted correctly, you should not feel it at all.
EMPTYING & REMOVING THE MENSTRUAL CUP
The emptying interval of the menstrual cup depends on the amount of menstrual bleeding you have. On heavy bleeding days, you may need to empty the menstrual cup 2-4 times, but at other times, it may be enough to empty it in the mornings and evenings. However, empty the menstrual cup at least every 12 hours.
Choose the easiest position for yourself. Insert your finger into the vagina and squeeze the bottom of the menstrual cup. You can also slide your finger along the side of the menstrual cup, causing it to give way and the negative pressure from inside the menstrual cup will escape. Try and relax when removing the menstrual cup because it will make it easier to remove the cup.
After that, push the menstrual cup with your pelvic floor muscles toward the opening of the vagina in the same way as when going to the toilet, and at the same time use your fingers to guide the cup out of the vagina. The purpose of the menstrual cup's antenna is to lead you to the menstrual cup and you can use it for some support when removing the menstrual cup. You shouldn’t pull on the menstrual cup’s antenna, as this intensifies the negative pressure of the menstrual cup and holds the menstrual cup more tightly in place.
Empty the menstrual cup into either the toilet bowl or the sink and rinse it. You should start rinsing with cold water, as this will prevent the silicone from staining. You can also use a mild, fragrance-free and oil-free cleanser such as Nomai Cup Wash cleansing gel for rinsing.
Before inserting the menstrual cup again, check that the air holes are clean and fully open.

Cleaning the menstrual cup
When your period is over, disinfect the menstrual cup by boiling it for about 10 minutes in plenty of water or using the Nomai sterilization container and, if you wish, wash the menstrual cup with Nomai Cup Wash cleansing gel. After that, let the menstrual cup air dry and finally slip the menstrual cup into the breathable cotton storage pouch intended for it.

About the material
Nomai Menstrual Cups are made of 100% medical grade silicone that has received FDA approval. They do not contain harmful chemicals (latex, phthalates, BPA and parabens) and they do not dry the vaginal mucosa. The menstrual cup colours have been tested to international standards, and have also received FDA approval and are suitable for medical use. The medical grade silicone used for the Nomai Menstrual Cups and the colours used in them are also vegan.
In addition, medical silicone is an unfavourable breeding ground for bacteria, and therefore a particularly hygienic material.
About the design
The soft and flexible medical grade silicone sits well and conforms to the walls of the vagina and, when properly inserted, the cup is not felt when used. The soft material and vase-like shape reduce bladder irritation. The smooth surface of the menstrual cup does not rub the mucous membranes and is easy to keep clean.
The flexible material makes it significantly easier to insert and remove the menstrual cup.
The soft circular antenna of the Nomai Menstrual Cup is not felt in use and can be easily shortened to a suitable length if necessary. In addition to this, the air holes help keep the menstrual cup in place and make it easier to remove.
Three different sizes ensure that a suitable menstrual cup is available for all levels of menstrual bleeding and anatomy types.
Environmentally friendly choice
Disposable sanitary towels and tampons produce over 100 kilograms of poorly degrading and plastic-containing waste during the life of a menstruating individual.
The Nomai Menstrual Cup is a plastic-free, reusable menstrual protection, which can be used for several years. By choosing the Nomai Menstrual Cup, you are doing a great favour not only to yourself, but also to our planet.
